In summer's sweat, the man smelled forest deep,
A crisp sage leaf brushed his shin with morning dew.
He stared, and saw his story in its sleep,
Rainy days by the nook, porch days anew.

The dew told tales of sunny days on high,
Soothing days by the lake, where dreams unfold.
The man, lost in wonder, felt the sky,
A gale of joy, fear, hope, his heart to hold.

A crisp wind grazed his cheek, and to his ear,
The crunch of snow beneath his boot did call.
He stood, transfixed, by winter's beauty near,
And felt the forest's embrace, enthrall.
