One of the standout tracks on last week's Silk Royal Showcase 05 release is "Feel Me Wondering", a collaboration between veteran Silk contributor Blugazer and label newcomer The Cynic Project. The former, based in NYC, continues to make a case for being hailed as one of the finest progressive artists of his generation, while the latter, a Minnesota-based production and vocals duo, make an exceedingly soulful opening statement with us. It's worth noting that "Feel Me Wondering" is also the first official release under the banner of "Silk Music", our one and only label name going forward.
The song kicks off with a lush soundscape and deep-diving, yet up-tempo groove. The extended intro lends itself well to the opening moments of a trance & progressive set; in fact, Tom Fall featured this one recently as his guest mix opener on Above & Beyond's acclaimed "Group Therapy" radio show. The patient early build of the track is enhanced by the ethereal vocal flourishes of The Cynic Project, as well as a variety of radiant melodic layers. Emotive "waves" of sound continue to wash over the listener, as the track crescendoes into a breathtaking climax: an awe-inspiring vocal solo, followed by a stunning new lead theme. We're proud to feature "Feel Me Wondering" as the new standard of electronic music releases slated for the remainder of 2015 (and beyond), under our newly minted Silk Music.
